I write as I travel from New Haven to New York. Like Carroway, I can’t help but stare out the window and see the Valley of the Ashes that lies before me. Instead of bustling factories, we now have dormant plants littered across the countryside. Tattered windows strewn the landscape and remind me of the shattered hope of any quick recovery for the area.
The dust has settled and we find ourselves left with antiquated machinery and systems. How will people adapt to the information economy? I am at a lost how far behind the curve some people are and how they will catch up.
